Dr. Alice Ladas

Reawakening Connected Sexuality

Did you know?

  • Kids hooking up without knowing who they’re hooking up with, can lead to a lot of difficulties
  • One reason for all sorts of addictions today is that we don’t have enough intimate connection
  • Parents have to be involved in the conversation with their children about sex and sexuality
  • Touch is a sexual thing, something we thrive on and without touch we don’t learn to connect
Read Bio

“Young people have access to more sexual information than anyone in the past ever had via the internet. They can learn about bestiality, S & M, etc. and all this is delivered without any information about how to make sexual connections loving, by agreement and positive. What are they going to do with all this disconnected info?”

Dr. Alice Ladas was an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and supervisor, American Board of Sexology Diplomate, Diplomate of Clinical Social Work, Certified Bioenergetics Analyst and research chair on the US Association for Body Psychotherapy Board of Directors.  She was a licensed psychologist originally from NY and practicing in New Mexico until her final day at the ripe young age of 102.

Her treatment approach, in her own words, “Body, mind and spirit cannot be separated so I work with the whole person.  Where appropriate, I work directly with muscle tension and breathing in addition to words…I also do biofeedback with the pelvic muscle of both women and men…Healing occurs in the presence of non-judgmental loving appropriate care.”

Dr. Ladas is co-author of the best-selling book The G Spot and Other Recent Discoveries About Human Sexuality, co-author of Women and Bioenergetic Analysis and author of Breastfeeding: The Less Available Option.

I have known Dr. Alice Ladas for several decades. When I started the NY Metropolitan area AASECT group, she was right there to help get it going. When our group put on a mini conference at the AASECT annual conference, Alice was right there presenting her work.  And again when our small AASECT group put on a Continuing Education Conference, Dr. Alice assisted with the whole process. When I was involved with the early stages of the US Association for Body Psychotherapy, Dr. Ladas was right there helping me start the focus on research. She has always been an eager participant, a healthy, energetic and physical fit woman, continuing to compete in tennis on 2 tennis teams at her current advanced age. She is always ready and willing to get involved and make a difference. So it is no surprise to me that she welcomed the opportunity to do a video interview on this summit to, in her own words, “bring me into the 21st century”.
