Dr. Ofman is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Diplom degree in Clinical Psychology from Ruhr-Universität Bochum,Germany.
She came to the US in 1980 as a Fulbright Scholar to train in Sex Therapy at Cornell Medical Center with Dr. Helen Singer Kaplan, a leader and innovator in the field of sex therapy. After completing her training program she went on to work with Dr. Kaplan clinically and as a director of sex therapy research for 10 years.
In addition, Dr. Ofman completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psycho-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She has an extensive background in cognitive behavioral and couple’s therapy techniques. Dr. Ofman has published and lectured about the sexual effects of cancer and cancer treatments to both patient and professional audiences for many years. She has appeared as a guest on radio shows and been featured in numerous media articles about sexual matters.
Dr. Ofman is on the faculty of NYU Langone Medical Center where she teaches and supervises in the human sexuality program.
