Dr. Konstance McCaffree, Ph.D. is a Certified Sexuality Educator and Supervisor (AASECT- American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists and NCFR - the National Council of Family Relations). She is an Adjunct Professor and the original educational methods developer for Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies. She also has served as an adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education working with elementary and secondary classroom teachers. As a classroom teacher in the public schools, Dr. McCaffree has taught human sexuality to elementary and secondary students for over 30 years.  She has served on the Board of Directors of the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) and as President of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS). She is active in the American Association of Sex Education, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) serving as its Treasurer and President. Dr. McCaffree conducts workshops both within the US and internationally to help educators/adults improve their skills in teaching sexuality education. In recent years she has developed curricula and implemented training programs for educators and other health professionals in South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria and the Philippines. Dr. McCaffree has worked with various research groups to develop curricula to prevent HIV/AIDS, unplanned pregnancy, and other health and social issues among teenagers. She is the co-author of the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) award winning and nationally promoted curricula for minority youth, Be Proud! Be Responsible!, Making a Difference, and Making Proud Choices.  Though there are many sexual resources for gaining information about sex/sexuality her passion is the promotion of education in sexuality where participants learn to communicate, examine their own values and those in the culture around them, and develop skills for promoting their own sexual health and that of their family and friends.   Her work presently is in supervision of those seeking AASECT Sexuality Education Certification and continuing her work in other cultures.
