Dr. Jacqueline Hott
Sex Therapy Through the Years
Did you know?
- “You can’t have a parent and a child without sex”
- A co-therapist sex therapy team has to have a good relationship to be an example for clients
- You will get older whether you give up or not, so you may as well continue studying and learning
Dr. Jacqueline Rose Hott started with an undergraduate degree at the Bellevue School of Nursing in NY where she met and married Louis Hott, medical doctor, and convinced him to change from neurosurgery to psychiatry and they saw many patients together. She joined the faculty and quickly became a full professor, and later dean, at Adelphi School of Nursing, then she studied sex therapy with Dr. Virginia Saddock at the New York Medical College, later took a postdoctoral program and got certified in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Her text, “Notter’s Essentials of Nursing Research” co-written with a former student, has had 6 editions and has been translated into several languages. Her many accolades and awards, such as being a distinguished lecturer for the Nursing Honor Society and receiving a lifelong leadership award, reveal a life well lived in the service of others. She continued to study, learn and contribute the rest of her life.
